Girls' night out.....to celebrate the nuptials

Maureen, Carol and Kathy took me out last night to 'Wine and Canvas'. You have an art teacher up front walking you thorugh the steps of a painting. At the same time they have waiters coming around taking your wine order and also available - plates of cheese, crackers, salami, grapes. They play great music and it really is a relaxing atmosphere where your creative juices can flow. Mostly women - a few men. There were 90 people in the class - and every one of the paintings was different. A great night - thanks to my dear girlfriends.

More lillies

Lilly Garden on Fairwood

Mrs Dewald planted more varieties of day lillies than I have ever seen. A beautiful summer garden. Lots of color but the blooms only last a day.

Kevin's 52nd Birthday

Hannah and Rocco were with us for Kevin's 52nd Birthday. That was the best gift for Kevin...time with Rocco. Rocco likes to 'fix things' with the cordless power drill in Nana's Ugh Boots. ( see photo below). We had a nice family lunch with a 'Drum Cake'. Made by one of the ladies I work with who has a cake making hobby/second job. I framed kevin's 'Charlie Dog'- his childhood buddy. Added a photo of him with Charlie Dog when he was two - 1963.....50 years ago.

Before and afters of the front over-haul...progress being made

Have been working hard in the front beds - pulled out the old hedge - 50 years of root growth! Thank you Alan! Planted Boxwoods, ivy; and took up all the landscape 'rock'. Replaced with hardwood mulch and hung 2 flags. The 'before' photo is from the listing site.

Progress on the pond ...see before and afters

Memorial Day Long weekend here. Eli is 23 today! We have been enjoying time outside - got the new pond built and in the next post you will see the front over-haul has started. Not sure what order the photos will display in.....but the idea was to see before and afters of the pond. Sorry one is sideways,

End of Year Show for the Glee Club

I took Carol Hoppe up to Purdue last night to see the Glee Club's end of year show - this is always a special show where they honor the graduating seniors - the 4th photo down has the seniors off to the side. The second photo down is when they form a P - for Purdue - looks just like the icon for PURDUE. A little bit of fun - they let the guys do one fun photo on stage for their last performance.....and then I was the 'most beautiful and deserving woman in the audience' last night and got the carnation! The Glee Club leaves Tuesday for their two week European Tour.
